SOCIAL EMOTIONAL WELL BEING & COMMUNITY CULTURE

Students have the opportunity to get to know one another and to know their teachers in a tight-knit community. School culture grows out of advisory meetings and circle discussions rather than disciplinary rules. At CSA we know that students do best when they have strong relationships with teachers and classmates. Opportunities for these relationships to be built and nurtured include:

  • Daily advisory

  • Small groups

  • Clubs, including Student Government

  • Manhattan Youth after-school programming, including sports

Restorative practices form the basis of our socioemotional learning and leads to engaged academics, positive community, effective behavior-management and creates a school environment that is developmentally responsive to the needs of each our students.
